One of the three Team GO Rocket Leaders, Sierra returns to pose a challenge for Trainers in Pokémon GO this August 2023. Alongside, Cliff and Arlo, Sierra offers a tougher test than the regular grunts that Trainers commonly face in Rocket Balloons.

Defeating Sierra will give Trainers a rare opportunity to catch a strong Shadow Pokémon that can then be used in battle, making it worthwhile to try and defeat her. Once Trainers have beaten the three Team GO Rocket Leaders, they can then face Team GO Rocket Boss Giovanni in Pokémon GO to earn the chance to catch a Legendary Shadow Pokémon.

Sierra's Team For August 2023 in Pokémon GO

Pokemon Go How To Find and Catch Victreebel

Like the other Team GO Rocket Leaders, Sierra's squad remains unchanged in Pokémon GO for August 2023, but this could change later on in the month. Sierra will always lead with Generation 1, Rock- and Ground-type Geodude.

Her second Pokémon will be one out of three, from Steel- and Ground-type Steelix, Psychic and Fairy-type Gardevoir, or Dark- and Ghost-type Sableye. The Leader's final Pokémon will be either Dark- and Fire-type Houndoom, Water- and Flying-type Gyarados, or Grass- and Poison-type Victreebel.

Best Pokémon GO Counters For Sierra in August 2023

Pokemon Go Togekiss.png

Trainers should start against Sierra's with a Grass-type or Water-type Pokémon, as both are double effective against Geodude. Swampert is the best option, as the top all-around Water- type in Pokémon GO. Swampert could take out Sierra's whole team on its own if certain Pokémon are used, as it is also super-effective against Steelix and Houndoom.

Rock- and Dark-type Tyranitar dominates against Leader Arlo in Pokemon GO due to its attack power and it is also super-effective against several of Sierra's Pokémon. Tyranitar has a type advantage over Houndoom and Gyarados, as well as being too strong for some of the Leader's over options. For a third Pokémon, using a good all-rounder such as Togekiss can cover a lot of Sierra's options. Togekiss is super-effective against Sableye and also has available attacks to defeat Victreebel.

Sierras' line-up in August 2023 is varied and can cause Trainers problems, but she can be defeated using the right counters in Pokémon GO.
