The Season of the Malignant in Diablo IV has updated many class skills and abilities, offering new ways to make OP character builds that take advantage of the strongest traits seen in the game. From potent crowd control to nearly defeating every boss in a couple of hits, you can merge some ridiculous powers. Although you may have to find some specific gear or Legendary Aspects, these formed builds are worth the effort.

No matter what OP build you decide to follow, any character has endless possibilities for extra buffs through the Paragon Boards once you reach level 50. Nine paragon board paths in Diablo 4 contain nodes and glyphs that continue to supply passive traits even after you start hitting the endgame. Challenging Capstone Dungeons for World Tiers 3 and 4 requires you to at least start exploring Paragon content due to the higher-level enemies.

5 Poison Werewolf Storm Druid Build

A Druid wearing unique items in Diablo 4

The Storm skills of the Druid are highlighted here, using abilities like Storm Strike, Hurricane, and Tornado to build up high damage with magic in Diablo 4. Storm abilities almost always apply debuffs such as Immobilized and Vulnerable with their upgrade paths, allowing your character to take out most enemy hordes easily. Cyclone Armor, in particular, is a double-edged sword, dealing damage and protecting you equally.

The Spirit Boons Calm Before the Storm and Masochistic work wonders with this OP Druid build, giving your character a chance to regain Life and reduce your Ultimate cooldown.

The AoE damage from the Storm traits are made OP when you factor in Werewolf shape changing, which provides healing with the Blood Howl skill. The attacks you make while in Werewolf form are incredibly damaging from high Critical Strike chances, with passive skills allowing you to change the attacks to devastating poison. Finding Legendary or Unique Druid gear in Diablo 4 can turn this build into something unstoppable.

4 Hammer Shout Barbarian Build

Diablo 4 Beta Barbarian Transmog Options for Gear Appearance with New Items Found from Loot

The Barbarian class has a build that focuses on never running out of Fury so that you can use quick, high-damage abilities like Hammer of the Ancients over and over. To achieve this, you will want to invest several points into the Shout skills the Barbarian has in Diablo 4. Rallying Cry, Challenging Shout, and War Cry all give you resource regeneration on top of damage buffs and Life bonuses.

The Ground Stomp skill works well for this build since it allows your character to Stun enemies for an opportunity to activate Shout skills or recover Fury and Life.

Since this class carries more weapons than any other character, it's even more important to imbue items with the right Aspects. The Aspect of Ancestral Force causes the Hammer of the Ancients to have an additional shockwave, while the Aspect of the Expectant lets you gain even more Fury for using Basic Skills. Diablo 4's bosses and Elite enemies take huge hits from this Barbarian path when you build up your Strength stat with the right gear.

3 Blood Lance Sacrifice Necromancer Build

Diablo 4 Necromancer Ordering Skeletal Minions to Attack

Blood builds have gotten new support as of Season 1, with several of the best Malignant powers for Necromancers in Diablo 4 giving you far better chances to stay alive longer in combat. Blood Lance and Hemmorhage are given more purpose, with the former spawning Blood Orbs to heal your character. That skill also has a chance to Overpower enemies with enough casts, ramping up this class' damage to never before seen heights.

The Decrepify skill supports this build immensely due to a low Essence cost to activate the ability, with certain upgrades giving you a chance to instantly reduce cooldowns on traits like Blood Lance.

The Book of the Dead Sacrifices in place of Skeletal Minions are still the best way to reach max damage numbers with this class. Despite enemies now targeting you instead of the Minions, the Blood abilities are often tied to building Life, making this Necromancer more of a tank. The Bone Storm Ultimate also remains the best way to one-shot bosses in Diablo 4, with bone passives helping to support you in any situation.

2 Shadow Twisting Blades Rogue Build

Sporting some of the highest mobility in Diablo 4, the Shadow Twisting Blades build can be considered OP even months after the game's release. This is because your character can use skills like Twisting Blades, of course, and Puncture to quickly make large enemy groups Vulnerable. Equipping the Momentum Key Passive makes your natural combos with these skills build powerful buffs that last a long time.

Make sure to invest some points in the Dash, Dark Shroud, or Concealment skills for this OP Rogue build to make yourself Invulnerable as you sprint around the battlefield.

Focusing on Shadow Imbuements with the Shadow Clone Ultimate simply bolsters your damage, combining naturally with the already potent knife damage of Twisting Blades. While bows also support high damage numbers, knives are consistently better because they don't require you to overthink about space control. You'll want to get Legendary Knives with strong Aspects if you can to truly make this build OP in Diablo 4.

1 Unstable Lightning Sorcerer Build

Diablo 4 Sorcerer Using Lightning Magic Skill Against Horde of Ghoul Enemies

The most OP build in Diablo 4 is the Unstable Lightning Sorcerer, whose magic can apply Crowd Control, Stun, Vulnerable, and deal some of the highest damage in the game with little effort. Ball Lightning and Arc Lash have chances to generate special attacks called Crackling Energy. These extra attacks cost no Mana, making this build a great way to conserve your primary resource so that you may spend it on other strong abilities.

The Overflowing Energy Key Passive is crucial for this OP build since it reduces your Shock skill cooldowns whenever a Crackling Energy hits an enemy in its path.

Any gear that supports Lightning Magic will be a fantastic way to strengthen your magic, but always make sure the Unstable Currents Ultimate stays in your action bar. Just activating this Ultimate causes each of your Lightning abilities to cast another random Shock trait at the same time. The sheer force created by stacking skill after skill on top of a single input makes this Sorcerer character build OP in Diablo IV.
