Players will be able to get Lynette for free in Genshin Impact 4.0 if they follow a prerequisite task, according to an announcement by HoYoverse. Lynette is one of the characters to be introduced with the Fontaine region, the fifth Nation to be added with the upcoming update due mid-August. She works as an assistant to her brother, the magician Lyney. She and Lyney are a magic-performing duo, which are also older siblings to Freminet. All three characters will be introduced as playable in Version 4.0.

Of course, these are not the only characters to be added to the game with the arrival of Fontaine, though the other main characters should become available to play with in future updates. Lynette is a 4-star character that has an Anemo Vision and uses a sword in combat. She is expected to have a sub-DPS role in a team comp, so getting a free Lynette in Genshin Impact 4.0 is great news for players – especially because of one of the new gameplay mechanics that is exclusive to Fontaine.

How To Unlock Lynette For Free In Genshin Impact

As was announced by developer HoYoverse during the 4.0 livestream, which was broadcast on the official Genshin Impact channel on Twitch, players will get a free copy of Lynette by increasing their Adventure Rank. Luckily, there is not too much effort put into it, as even new players can easily obtain the character. Players can get a free Lynette in Genshin Impact 4.0 by reaching Adventure Rank (AR) 25. This is a fairly low AR in the game, so players should be able to obtain her for free by simply progressing through the campaign.

She will be claimable for free on a special event page during Genshin Impact 4.0. Players who have met the prerequisite Adventure Rank in the action RPG should be able to get her immediately by heading over to the page on the special events tab and claiming her. Players who have not yet reached Adventure Rank 25 will have her claiming button blocked. As the game updates every six weeks, they will have a limited time to reach AR 25 and claim Lynette for free.

What Does Lynette Do In Genshin Impact

As was aforementioned, Lynette is a 4-star Anemo sword user. She is going to be a sub-DPS character, which means she will operate as a secondary source of damage. As an Anemo user, Lynette will be able to trigger Swirl reactions. According to Lynette’s leaked gameplay kit in Genshin Impact 4.0, her Elemental Skill will be infused with Ousia, one of the new gameplay mechanics that is exclusive to Fontaine.

Pneuma and Ousia compose opposing forces that can cause a special staggering reaction. If an opponent is powered by Pneuma, for instance, and players use their free Lynette’s Skill to hit them with an Ousia attack, the enemy may end up paralyzed and possibly even revert to a weaker state. Genshin Impact 4.0 arrives for PlayStation, PC, and mobile on August 16.
