Getting the Aquanaut title in Destiny 2 can be complicated for players who do not know what they have to complete. Titles in the space shooter tend to be locked behind various Triumphs, which is the official name of in-game achievements. Aquanaut is an equippable title and the main one introduced with the Season of the Deep, also known as S21. Much like the Rapacious Appetite submachine gun in Destiny 2, the Aquanaut is a Season of the Deep addition, which means players have a limited time to obtain it.

The Aquanaut title is part of seasonal content during the game’s Year 6, meaning it can be unlocked up until the release of The Final Shape expansion in early 2024. Even if Season of the Deep comes to an end, players can still obtain Aquanaut, since the seasonal activities required to unlock it will be available up until the new DLC and the start of Year 7. To unlock the Aquanaut title, players will have to complete a total of 10 specific Triumphs in Destiny 2, including a couple of Secret Triumphs. Knowing what to do is key to obtaining the desired seasonal title.

Complete (Secret) Triumphs To Unlock Aquanaut Title In Destiny 2

As was aforementioned, players will have to complete a list of 10 specific Triumphs in order to unlock the Aquanaut title in Destiny 2. All of these objectives are in some way related to the Season of the Deep, so they will be engaging in activities such as Deep Dives and Salvage, as well as catching fish and pursuing an Exotic weapon introduced in S21.

The Aquanaut title is significantly easy to obtain – players may find difficulty in one or two of the challenges, but this can easily be resolved by co-op play. The table below lists all ten Triumphs and describes them to some extent:

Triumphs To Unlock Aquanaut Title In Destiny 2

Weekly Wetwork

  • Complete each week of the quest "Into the Depths."

This is a pretty straightforward Triumph. Players who have access to the Season of the Deep content need to complete the first mission on Titan and then proceed with the storyline in the H.E.L.M.

Challenges Accepted

  • Unlock all seasonal bonuses earned by completing Seasonal Challenges.

This is also a straightforward Triumph to obtain in Destiny 2. Players will need to complete specific Season of the Deep challenges to unlock bonuses, such as upgrades and the option to focus-decrypt Deep Engrams.

Echo Relocation

  • Reset your vendor rank with the Sonar Station.

This Triumph requires players to play through seasonal activities until they max out Rank 16 with the Sonar Station in the H.E.L.M. and are able to completely reset their rank progression.

Reprised Reckoning

  • Defeat targets with Season of the Deep weapons. Defeated Guardians grant additional progress.

Players need simply equip seasonal weapons and eliminate opponents. The best weapons to use are the six Taken-themed weapons offered by Season of the Deep activities. They are Targeted Redaction (Hand Cannon), Rapacious Appetite (Submachine Gun), Different Times (Pulse Rifle), Until Its Return (Shotgun), A Distant Pull (Sniper Rifle), and Thin Precipice (Sword).

Big Fish

  • Defeat each unique boss in the Salvage activity.

The Salvage bosses rotate weekly, and there are two different bosses. Players will have to complete this activity in two different weeks.

Down the Drain

  • Defeat each unique boss found on your Deep Dives.

Deep Dive activities feature a total of three unique boss fights, and they also rotate weekly. This will require players to complete Deep Dives in three different weeks.

Pressurized Deep (Secret Triumph)

  • Complete a Deep Dive with Pressure Trials active on each encounter.

Pressure Trials are a specific mechanic that can be activated within the rooms of each encounter, increasing the challenge's overall difficulty. Players can trigger it by interacting with a bright Toland light floating in some place in each arena. Pressure Trials can vary in each stage, as they require players to take down Taken mini-bosses, destroy Blights, and cleanse small areas.

Quantity Over Quality

  • Catch fish at any Fish Pond.

Players will have to catch 150 fish, regardless of their rarity. To catch fish, players will need bait, which can be acquired by completing other activities.

Ambitious Angler

  • Catch an Exotic fish at any fishing pond.

This Triumph is a bit more difficult than the previous one, as Exotic fish are very rare. Nevertheless, players can increase their chances of getting an Exotic fish by getting perfect catches whenever a fish bites and by fishing in a pond with a high level of activity, which will increase the odds of them spawning.

Something Wicked This Way Comes (Secret Triumph)

  • Earn the Exotic Scout Rifle, Wicked Implement.

To obtain the Wicked Implement Scout Rifle in Destiny 2, players will have to complete a special mission that involves catching three Exotic Fish. They will need to add them to the aquarium in the H.E.L.M. in order to get three distinct Broken Blades in Destiny 2, Next, they will have to run a Deep Dive activity and, throughout it, locate and activate Hive Thrall statues with these Broken Blades. Before the last boss encounter, players will trigger the secret Whetstone Exotic mission by entering a newly unlocked door, which will be shown on the screen. Players should not go down the regular path. Inside the new room, they will have to interact with a new Hive Thrall statue that says "Carve a Path of Violence." There are several mechanics at play here: players will have to make the mini-boss vulnerable by eliminating Taken Minotaurs and then dealing damage during the DPS phase. This will then initiate a timed encounter, which is fairly hard to beat. Players have 10 minutes to overcome the challenge, or they will have to try again. The Whetstone quest will require full team cooperation in order to beat. Once the final boss encounter, namely Omen, is beaten, players can obtain the Wicked Implement Scout Rifle.

While some of the Triumphs are hard to complete, others are extremely easy to obtain. It is best to farm for the Aquanaut title by having a Fireteam of friends at one’s disposal, especially for the Wicked Implement quest and Pressure Trials.

These require cooperation and a clear understanding of the mechanics at play, so random players found through matchmaking can actually set players back from their goals. Of course, players can always use the LFG feature to find a focused group for these activities. Players have until early 2024 to complete these objectives in Destiny 2, so they can calmly organize their acquisition of the Aquanaut title.
