Vanderpump Rules star Lisa Vanderpump and her husband Ken Todd, who own several restaurants in the Los Angeles area, are being sued by the landlords of their recently closed restaurant PUMP. Lis and Ken announced that PUMP would be closing earlier this year, sharing that they were having issues with the landlords at the time. While there haven't been many details released surrounding PUMP or its closure, many Vanderpump Rules viewers remember the restaurants opening in 2013 as it was highly publicized on the series as well as Lisa's former show, The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills. Though PUMP has closed its doors, the drama is just getting started.

Vanderpump Rules' Lisa and Ken are reportedly being sued by the landlords of the venue that used to house PUMP for $1 million after breaching their contract. According to Page Six, the company that owns the venue, 8948 Santa Monica Partners, claimed that Ken (and Lisa, by proxy), have "failed and refused and continues to fail and refuse to keep and perform their lease conditions," throughout the closure. The company is suing for $950,000 in damages, which breaks down to "roughly $250,000 in unpaid rent, $150,000 in absconding the liquor license and $50,000 of stolen fixtures." Lisa and Ken have not commented.

It's been reported that Ken has breached his PUMP contract in several ways, though mostly through unpaid rent. According to the legal documentation, Ken has also withheld returning PUMP's liquor license, which makes it impossible for new tenants to take over the restaurant space and open something new. The documents explain that the liquor license has an "estimated fair market value of $150,000", and from Ken's decision to hold onto it, the company has lost "approximately $56,500 of base rent and other charges for each month." The owner of the company shared, "We are aggressively pursuing damages and [Ken] will be held fully liable."

Ken and Lisa are no strangers to legal troubles involving their businesses. In 2020, the couple were sued by former SUR employees who claimed they'd never been paid for their work at the restaurant. The lawsuit cited California labor laws and explicitly tried to state that Ken, Lisa, and their business partners weren't paying fair wages. This accusation came just months after another SUR employee had lodged similar complaints in a lawsuit of his own. All the cases were settled out of court, and neither Ken nor Lisa has commented on the charges.

With Vanderpump Rules season 11 already getting off to a rocky start with Raquel Leviss' absence and Ariana Madix's refusal to film with Tom Sandoval, things are looking even more difficult for Ken and Lisa. As their legal troubles continue, it is possible that the lawsuit could be featured in the upcoming season. While Lisa's personal life doesn't typically make it to Vanderpump Rules, the show is known for sharing more about her business ventures.
