90 Day: The Last Resort's on the horizon (the show's about healing couples who are on the brink of disaster), and many of its cast members have been embroiled in shocking scandals. Because they're not afraid to make scenes and show their feelings, the drama that the show's stars bring to the New Age-inspired series (where "hippie" relationship therapies are delivered in a tropical setting) may be electric. These cast members are controversial, to say the least, and they're definitely familiar faces. However, their tendency to throw tantrums and put it all out there may mean that some of their relationships are beyond repair.

There were ripples of excitement when the 90 Day: The Last Resort season 1 cast was announced. Before that, there were rumors about who'd appear on the show. When the cast was confirmed, there weren't any major surprises, and the spinoff looks promising. Famous franchise celebs will be meeting relationship challenges head-on, with the help of experts, and there could be emotional fireworks. There may be deep and meaningful breakthroughs that save or destroy relationships. A new superteaser trailer, as per a People exclusive, showed Liz Woods calling Big Ed Brown a "piece of sh*t." so things will get heated.

Will Jovi Dufren's Marriage With Yara Zara Survive?

In the past, both sides of this troubled union seemed to be over it. Jovi Dufren and Yara Zaya had sizzling chemistry, passion, and physical attraction, but there were so many problems. Yara, one the franchise's notorious "material girls," wants it all, and like a proper reality queen, she makes unreasonable demands. For example, she wants to spend Jovi's money, which he earns as an underwater robotics technician, but she doesn't want him to travel for work. Her desire to live the good life means that someone has to earn a stable income. While she's entrepreneurial herself, Jovi may be the primary bread-winner.

By getting mad about his work schedule, when they had bills to pay (they now have a baby daughter, Mylah), she created so much chaos. However, Jovi's ferocious appetites were also an issue, as the decadent New Orleans man had trouble staying away from cocktails and strip clubs. Yara, who's a very glamorous woman, was understandably peeved when her man kept drifting back towards a party lifestyle featuring scads of scantily-clad women. Meanwhile, her friends stirred the pot by telling her that she was way out of Jovi's league.

Now, both are valiantly adulting as new parents. However, their childishness always creeps back in, and that's admittedly pretty entertaining. They will fight, they don't hold back, and because they're a lot alike, their clashes are epic. Both still have a lot of growing up to do.

On 90 Day: The Last Resort, Jovi's stripper scandals, drinking and general immaturity may be exposed in a very harsh and unforgiving light. As for Yara, her love of the finer things in life (which could be perceived as shallowness), and her own scandalous acts, such as wanting to live in Europe, far away from her husband, may wreak major havoc. In the superteaser, Yara got real, stating that she'd been "miserable" in her marriage for a long, long time. She also said that she's been hiding things from Jovi.

Big Ed Brown & Liz Woods Are Hot & Cold

Big Ed Brown's an interesting presence in the franchise, as he plays the clown, but also does some dastardly deeds. Is the real Big Ed the smiling "Mukbang" fan who sells merch with his name on it? Or is the genuine article the man who criticizes and controls his love interests, who are typically decades younger than him? Truth is sometimes complicated, so maybe Big Ed's everything at once. He's good, he's bad, he's funny, he's cringe.

Meanwhile, his newest young partner Liz Woods is often considered a clout chaser. She's put up with so much from Big Ed, including his suspicions that she's bisexual. He's one jealous guy, and any threat to the relationship is going to set him off. It's often hard to understand why Liz would stay with a man who was so rude to his former partner, Rose Vega. However, the biggest scandal for Liz and her man is their constant on-again off-again status. How many times have they broken up? Eleven and counting.

Therapists will have their work cut out for them when they start helping this duo, because eleven breakups means that problems run really deep. While there's clearly a bond between them, they may not be together for the right reasons. However, it's possible that the right therapy could work wonders. Will Big Ed acknowledge his weaknesses after "past life regression therapy"? Could Liz do the same? No one knows if these "Kumbaya" moments will happen, and that's what makes the show's hippie premise so fascinating. When "hippie" meets "hothead," the unpredictability is off the charts.

Kalani Faagata & Asuelu Pulaa Just Don't Get Along

Dysfunction's par for the course in the 90DF franchise, but Kalani and Aseulu took it to another level. They met at a resort in Samoa, and Kalani got pregnant the first time they had sex. During that encounter, she lost her virginity to Asuelu. However, that stuff isn't shameful, it's just a fact, and it isn't what makes them scandalous.

The real issue is that Asuelu isn't nearly as sensitive as his partner. They're wired differently, and have a lot of trouble seeing eye to eye. When they're onscreen, Asuelu often comes off like a jerk with an ego. Kalani wept in the superteaser, while Asuelu made weak attempts to comfort her. However, she was sobbing in a lounge chair because of him. Mostly, he doesn't seem to care how she feels.

Asuelu has in-laws who want his money, and this may be a cultural thing, but it irked Kalani in the past, because they didn't have a lot of cash. They depended too much on Kalani's father for everything, including the roof over their heads. Also, Aseulu was happy to sit back and let Kalani do the bulk of the parenting. They now share two sons, but what else do they really have in common? Not much, until 90 Day: The Last Resort counselors work their magic.

Molly Hopkins & Kelly Brown's Problems Hit Critical Mass

Molly and Kelly from 90 Day Fiance

Molly Hopkins is a polarizing presence in the franchise. On the one hand, she's a skilled and successful entrepreneur. On the other hand, she's known for her conflicts, and recently ended a long friendship with Cynthia Decker. Molly's beau Kelly Brown has also been a part of some allegedly "out there" moments. While he was cleared of the charges, Molly's own daughter Olivia Hopkins accused him of physically attacking her. However, her credibility's in question, as she has a criminal record herself, and did time in jail for a parole violation.

Molly's franchise romance with much-younger man Luis Mendez ended in disaster, and included every sad cliché in the franchise. He was likely a gold digger, and she was a gullible older woman who probably fell in love with a cute face and body. However, she moved past that and found Kelly, who worked as a police officer. It seemed like a nice love story, but forces began acting on the couple and pulling them apart. Can they overcome these scandals, and become a united front? Only time will tell.

Angela Deem & Michael Ilesanmi Are Truly Troubled

90 Day The Last Resort - Angela Deem & Michael Ilesanmi

The show title, "The Last Resort" could have been inspired by Angela Deem and Michael Ilesanmi's troubled rollercoaster ride of a relationship. When Angela wasn't wondering if the Nigerian Michael was a scammer, she was covering him in kisses. She alternated between red-hot passion and loathing, and that made her scenes with him come alive. However, Angela doesn't know when to say when. Instead of spitting out some angry words, she'll throw a cake at her man, or try to destroy his vehicle. This is a rare 90DF relationship where there are almost too many scandals to choose from. The two just mentioned barely scratch the surface.

Of all the couples mentioned, Angela and Michael seem to have the biggest issues, as violence has crept into their relationship, and that all comes from Angela. Angela recently slapped and punched a "pal" at a hotel, so she's one of those 90DF franchise hotheads who really can't control their temper. If hippie therapies help her to deal with her aggression, she may be a happier woman. If they don't, she might end up in jail someday.

When she plumbs the depths on 90 Day: The Last Resort, it could be compelling viewing. Instead of really confronting how she's been hurt, and making different choices, Angela gets angry. Therapy might show her how to acknowledge her rage, accept it, and move on from it. However, with Angela, drama is a certainty, so anything can happen.
