What To Expect From The Equalizer 3

Denzel Washington as Robert McCall in The Equalizer 3.

As in the previous two movies, The Equalizer 3's story looks to be making things personal for McCall, who puts his skills to the test to protect the people he cares about. The major difference this time around, however, is the film's Italian setting. Both of the first two Equalizer movies take place in the U.S., meaning audiences are in for a sequel with a very different atmosphere when McCall returns to the big screen this fall.

Despite the shift in location, the upcoming film appears to be bringing back the graphic violence of the first two movies, with one Equalizer 3 trailer even teasing an action sequence in which McCall rams the barrel of a gun through an enemy's eye. Although McCall has always been outnumbered and outgunned in the both previous franchise entries, the new movie looks to be taking this to an entirely new level, with Washington's character taking on an entire crime syndicate.

The shift in location also brings with it some major updates to The Equalizer 3's cast. Washington seems to be only actor returning from previous movies, with David Denman, Sonia Ammar, Eugenio Mastrandrea, and Gaia Scodellaro among those playing supporting characters. Notably, Dakota Fanning is also in The Equalizer 3, making for an exciting reunion after she and Washington starred together in 2004's Man on Fire.
