An eerie Superman: Legacy fan poster hypes up Brainiac's arrival after major villain rumors. James Gunn's Superman: Legacy sees David Corenswet's young Clark Kent start working as a reporter at the Daily Planet, balancing a life alongside Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen and his duties as Superman, which will see him interact with different DC Universe heroes like Green Lantern Guy Gardner, Mr. Terrific, Hawkgirl, and Metamorpho. With so many heroes present in the movie, a worthy villain must rise.

On Twitter, digital artist BossLogic shared a Superman: Legacy fan poster imagining Brainiac as the villain of the film.

The fan poster depicts an eerie scenario with Brainiac arriving on Earth in the middle of a dark sky full of clouds, with Superman firing his heat vision upwards at the modernized version of Brainiac's Skull Ship shown in the Superman: Legacy fan poster.

Could Brainiac Be Superman: Legacy’s Main Villain?

Superman: Legacy is bound to feature at least one of Superman's most famous villains, with Gunn set to cast who will play the DC Universe's Lex Luthor as soon as the SAG-AFTRA strike is over. While Luthor will play a role in the DC Universe's first movie, that does not mean he is the main villain of Superman: Legacy.

As with the announcement that multiple heroes will show up in the movie, more than one villain could be present in Corenswet's DC debut, and it looks like Lex might have Brainiac's company in the movie. Recently, the Superman: Legacy Brainiac villain rumor became more likely, as the official Superman Twitter account posted a thread of comic books that readers should check out to prepare for Superman: Legacy, and among them was 2008's "Superman: Brainiac."

Brainiac is the perfect choice to serve as Superman: Legacy's main villain. The character has yet to appear in a live-action movie, which would pair up well with the fresh aspect of the new DCU and Gunn's idea behind Corenswet's casting as the Man of Steel. Brainiac also connects to Supergirl, who is set to have her own solo film — Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow — in the near future. Due to this, Brainiac appears as the perfect villain for Superman: Legacy, helping set the movie apart from past Superman films while also laying the groundwork for the DCU's future.
