1 The Original First Avengers Suit

Instagram user @strongincostume dons the iconic look that built Steve Rogers into the hero he is now known as. In his post, the cosplayer explains how much seeing a childhood favorite character on the big screen in Captain America: The First Avenger meant to him. Going back to the hero’s origin, strongincostume wears a highly-saturated red, white, and blue suit reminiscent of Howard Stark’s original suit for Steve Rogers. Topped off with the classic Captain America helmet with wings and a shield that has clearly seen battle, this cosplay perfectly honors Steve Rogers’ first steps as the classic hero.

2 Captain America Poster Recreation

Another take on Steve Rogers’ Captain America: The First Avenger look, Twitter user @knightshade94 cosplays the hero in a recreation of the first film’s poster. The cosplayer nails the emotion shown in The First Avenger’s poster, looking just as pensive as Steve himself. Her Captain America suit is one of the more modern versions, but using it for this poster recreation is like a glimpse into how far Steve has come.

3 Steve Rogers and Sam Wilson

Captain America: The Winter Soldier set up Steve and Sam Wilson as a powerful, reliable duo, and these cosplayers honor that dynamic. Instagram user @xnewyorksmittyx dons Steve’s Winter Soldier suit while @kingwebhead wears Sam Wilson’s Captain America suit introduced in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Steve stands to the left in a nod to The Winter Soldier film, calling back to the opening of the film where Steve tells Sam that he’s “on your left.” The dramatic lighting captured by @wsikanderlife completes this shoot, with it looking like Steve passing on the mantle to Sam.

4 Steve Rogers’ Civil War Suit

Though this Reddit user has since deleted their account, their Captain America: Civil War cosplay continues to impress on the Captain America subreddit. The heavily-armored third suit was what Steve wore to the mission in Lagos, which this cosplayer references in his costume. With the Avengers A still on the left shoulder, the cosplayer replied to a comment saying that this specific iteration of the suit was from before the conflict of Civil War went down. Since the cosplayer said that the suit was Lagos-inspired, this little detail makes complete sense.

5 Captain America’s Infinity War Concept

By the time Steve Rogers appears in Avengers: Infinity War, he is a very different person than he was in his MCU debut. After experiencing the events of Civil War, the hero definitely became more cautious of the world. With this change in mindset came a change in suit, which Instagram user @tom_does_cosplay takes inspiration from. Throughout Infinity War, Steve debuted a slightly new take on his suit with his sleeves rolled up, which tom_does_cosplay’s suit references with the short sleeves. Much less colorful than ever before, the cosplayer’s Captain America suit is completed with scales on the chest.

6 Infinity War’s Battle of Wakanda Suit

In another Avengers: Infinity War look, Instagram user @ultimateh3ro cosplays the look used in the Battle of Wakanda. The highlight of this cosplay is definitely the recreated Wakandan shield that expands for maximum defense. Steve, along with the other Avengers, were given Wakandan tech during the Battle of Wakanda. This hand shield is a good look on Captain America, and ultimateh3ro’s moving shield makes it all the more impressive.

7 The Complete Endgame Look

Reddit user Fazgardian went all out with their Captain America look, complete with details from Avengers: Endgame and a full tank in the background. Wielding both Captain America’s shield and Thor’s hammer, this cosplay references the iconic moment in Endgame when Steve calls Mjolnir. He even does the famous pose with Mjolnir, pointing the hammer to the sky as if he’s Steve calling lightning down. The suit itself is accurate with the exposed scales on the chest and classic Captain America helmet.

8 Captain America With American Pride

This cosplay also references Captain America’s Avengers: Endgame look with Mjolnir in hand. Instagram user @halcybella dons the shield on her back and Mjolnir in hand with this post being for the 4th of July. As America’s hero, there is no holiday more fitting for Steve Rogers. It is an especially fitting tribute to America with the cosplayer standing in front of the US Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. and the American flags waving in the air. Halcybella says in her post that Captain America is a childhood favorite of hers, and she definitely does the hero justice with her cosplay.

9 The New Captain America — Sam Wilson

After Steve Rogers put down the mantle of Captain America, the title was rightfully passed on to his partner, Sam Wilson. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier detailed his journey and eventually debuted Sam’s new version of the Captain America suit. In this cosplay, Instagram user @blerdofmouth wears a perfect recreation of this meaningful suit. White is the base of this suit rather than the previous blue, and the helmet is left out for a take on Sam’s Falcon combat goggles. From the stance to the lighting, photographer @worldofgwendana expertly sets up the cosplayer to make this shoot look truly powerful.

10 An Elegant Take On Captain America

In this final cosplay, Instagram user @laneyfeni put her own spin on the Captain America suit for last year’s Cosplay World festival. The classic suit is made into a two-piece costume with a cropped top, which has a beautiful ruffled collar for an elegant take. Complete with a fog background and a battle-ready stance, photographer @ryansimsphotography helps frame the shot to complete this strong cosplay.
