Bo-Katan Kryze and Ahsoka Tano race to Mandalore’s surface in incredible Star Wars: The Clone Wars art. Ahsoka and Bo-Katan have an important shared history in the Clone Wars, going from enemies in “A Friend in Need” to allies during the Siege of Mandalore arc. In addition, Ahsoka and Bo-Katan both debuted in live-action during The Mandalorian season 2.

Concept artist Saby Menyhei (@sabydraws) shared an amazing Clone Wars-inspired artwork that sees Ahsoka Tano and Bo-Katan Kryze arriving to battle along with clone troopers for the Siege of Mandalore.

As the artist explained, the Ahsoka Tano painting combined the character’s Clone Wars design with Rosario Dawson’s live-action portrayal of Ahsoka. Likewise, while “animated Bo-Katan” was at the Siege of Mandalore, this painting brings elements from the armor worn by Katee Sackhoff's Bo-Katan in The Mandalorian season 3. Ahsoka will now return in the Ahsoka show, whereas Bo-Katan is currently back on her home planet after defeating Moff Gideon.

The Siege Of Mandalore Was The Final Battle In The Clone Wars

Ahsoka Siege of Mandalore Star Wars Clone Wars season 7

The Siege of Mandalore, which was first mentioned in Star Wars Rebels, set the tone for Clone Wars season 7’s final four episodes. Clone Wars: The Final season was split into three arcs of four episodes each, with the last arc focusing on Ahsoka and Mandalore. The Republic was not interested in intervening in a Mandalorian civil war, not even with a former Sith Lord leading one of the factions involved.

As such, Ahsoka Tano, who was no longer a Jedi at that point, was Bo-Katan’s only hope to help the planet. Bo-Katan had once fought side by side with Darth Maul as part of the Death Watch’s plan to take over Mandalore but soon realized her mistake. The death of Satine in Clone Wars season 5 only added to Bo-Katan’s tragedy. All of those elements made the Siege of Mandalore arc even more special.

Clone Wars often followed Star Wars movie characters, such as Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi. However, it also added new characters and concepts to the Star Wars canon. This includes Ahsoka Tano, Darth Maul’s return, and the new Mandalorian canon Interestingly, those three Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ canon additions converged into the Siege of Mandalore. This artwork pictures the very final battle in the Clone Wars, as Palpatine executed Order 66 shortly after Maul was arrested.
