Feature-length podcast movie Treat starring Kiernan Shipka releases a creepy first trailer. Shipka became synonymous with spooky stories after headlining the hit Netflix series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. After the show's surprising cancellation in 2020, fans eagerly awaited to see the talent's next project. Over a year later, it was announced that the Mad Men star would lead studio Cadence13’s first feature-length podcast Treat.
The studio's new division C13Features debuted an eery trailer for Treat just ahead of its international premiere. Teasing the terrifying storyline, the trailer gives fans a taste of the immersive audio experience to come. Shipka sets up the plot: a seemingly perfect American town threatened one Halloween night by its evil past.

Shipka leads the project as protagonist and narrator Allie West, a teen who struggles to fit into her picture-perfect town. When evil bubbles to the surface in the form of the town's outcast called the Piper, Allie quickly realizes that she and her younger brother might be the only ones who can save everyone. Shipka not only lends her voice to the production but serves as a producer alongside Chris Corcoran of Cadence13. Her cast-mates include TikTok star Sara Echeagaray, David Shih, Noah Robbins (Evil), Marc Menchaca (Ozark), and more.
While the phrase "podcast movie" might elicit double-takes amongst audiences, the new medium could be revolutionary for the entertainment industry. With a bankable star like Shipka, Treat is likely to see much success. At any rate, C13Features promises more to come, including the Ghostwriter podcast movie starring Kate Mara and Adam Scott.
