UA High's Class 1-A features many of My Hero Academia's most powerful characters, but the series also has shown a variety of other strong students who can compete with this group. Series creator Kohei Horikoshi may not put as much focus on these heroes as on those in Class 1-A, but that doesn't diminish how strong they can be. After all, even though they may not have as much combat experience as Class 1-A this isn't the only thing that matters.

Part of why Class 1-A gets more focus is that Deku is in that class. While some of its members may be strong, many are embarrassingly weak, such as Ojiro, whose only Quirk is a tail. My Hero Academia features many students outside of Class 1-A who can easily surpass this power level, and these are the ten strongest of them.

10 Yui Kodai

Yui Kodai from My Hero Academia

While Yui Kodai hasn't done that much in the series itself, her abilities outclass most of the others on this list. Her Quirk lets her both shrink and grow objects she has touched, which is an incredibly versatile ability in combat. Not only can this control the enemy's movements as they dodge large debris, it can also be used in a powerful surprise attack as well. While Yui has used her powers in the Final War arc to give Mt Lady a weapon in a great combo attack, her powers could be much better utilized. If they are, her ranking could easily rise higher.

9 Juzo Honenuki

Juzo uses his Quirk in My Hero Academia

Juzo Honenuki's ability may not seem powerful on the surface, but he has shown its devastating power in combat in a dramatic fashion during the arc where Class 1-B faced off against Class 1-A. His Quirk lets him liquefy any given surface, allowing him to swim through them with ease. This combined with his sharp mind and powerful physical abilities makes him a formidable threat, which explains why he is one of the few UA students to get in by recommendation. However, while he has been shown to be powerful, his Quirk is somewhat specific meaning he isn't quite as powerful as some of the other students on this list.

8 Seiji Shishikura

Seiji and his meatballs in My hero Academia

Seiji Shishikura possesses what may be the weirdest Quirk in all of My Hero Academia, but it is also one of the strongest. Seiji can manipulate globs of flesh and turn anyone he touches into a harmless ball of flesh as well. He can even manipulate the shape of his own flesh as well, making him quite annoying to deal with. The main reason Seiji isn't higher on this list is that his uptight personality makes him too easy to manipulate, which makes him much less threatening. Hopefully, My Hero Academia shows more of him in the future, especially since he and his fellow Shiketsu students have finally joined a major battle of the Final War.

7 Inasa Yoarashi

Yoarashi from My hero Academia

As another Shiketsu student, Inasa Yoarashi hasn't received much focus in My Hero Academia, which is a shame given how cool his ability is. His Whirlwind Quirk enables him to control large gusts of wind, which can be used defensively to blow away enemies and projectiles or offensively to blow debris at an enemy. His mastery of this Quirk is what led him to be UA's top recommended applicant before he decided to attend Shiketsu. His powers have been shown to put him on a similar level to Shoto Todoroki, one of Class 1-A's strongest students, which means he is incredibly powerful. Now that he has shown up in the Final War hopefully he will get more of a spotlight.

6 Neito Monoma

Neito Monoma is one of the less likable characters in My Hero Academia given his annoying personality. However, this doesn't diminish the insane power of Monoma's Quirk, which lets him copy the powers of anyone he touches. Depending on who he copies this can make him incredibly threatening and has even made him an integral part of the team of heroes trying to take down Shigaraki in the Final War arc, as he can copy Eraserhead's ability to nullify the enemy's Decay Quirk. This somewhat makes up for Monoma's normally irritating behavior as a regular student. If he was ever able to copy someone with an even more powerful Quirk, then he would become even more formidable.

5 Hitoshi Shinso

MHA Shinso

Shinso is a student who wasn't initially part of UA's hero course, but after an impressive showing at the Sports Festival, he was allowed a chance to join. Based on the strength of his abilities it is not hard to see why. Shinso is able to brainwash his enemies and force them to follow his commands if he is able to get them to answer his questions. While this may seem like a difficult condition to reach, Shinso is an expert at manipulating his opponent into doing it. He has even managed to partially control the villains' biggest threat Gigantomachia in this way, proving he is one of the strongest students in My Hero Academia.

4 Kinoko Komori

Kinoko from My Hero Academia

While she may not have some of the impressive accomplishments that the other students on this list have, the devastating potential of Kinoko Komori's Quirk makes her one of the scariest characters in the series. Kinoko can cause mushrooms to sprout in moist regions around her, including inside her opponent's lungs. While this could easily lead her to murder her enemies, she has enough control over her powers to merely stun them in this way. Even so, this is an incredibly hard attack to defend against, and if Horikoshi explored Kinoko's Quirk to its full potential, she would likely be higher on this list.

3 Nejire Hado

Nejire in My Hero Academia

Nejire is one of the Big Three, a trio of the strongest students at UA, and based on her abilities and experience it isn't hard to see why. Nejire can fire spiral energy beams from her body that can incapacitate her enemies, but creative usage of her powers also lets her do other things with her beams, like granting her the power of flight. Along with the other Big Three members, Nejire was even strong enough to slow down and awakened Shigaraki at the peak of his power, which is an incredible feat. However, despite her versatility and strength, she is still the weakest of the Big Three.

2 Tamaki Amajiki

Suneater in My Hero Academia

Tamaki Amajiki is another member of the Big Three just like Nejire, but the incredible potential of his powers makes him just a bit stronger than she is. His Quirk enables him to take on the qualities of anything he ate that is still in his digestive system. Thus, the potential of this ability is near limitless. Tamaki always makes sure to have useful foods like octopus or clams in his stomach to serve as offensive and defensive measures. One of the few limits to his power level is his timid personality, which has prevented him from believing in himself. However, he is gradually changing this attitude and with this change, he will likely grow even stronger.

1 Mirio Togata

Mirio in My Hero Academia

Mirio Togata is the strongest of the Big Three and thus ostensibly the strongest student at UA outside of class 1-A. Ironically, of the Big Three, his powers definitely seem the weakest, only allowing him to phase through solid objects. However, his extreme mastery of this skill makes him an incredibly versatile and formidable fighter, even able to go toe to toe with an incredibly powerful villain like Overhaul. This actually made him Nighteye's favored choice of a candidate to pass down One For All to. All of this makes Mirio Togata the strongest student in My Hero Academia outside of Class 1-A.

While Class 1-A may get most of the series' focus, this list shows that there is still a myriad of powerful student heroes outside the group. In fact, if this list extended to Elementary school students, Eri would likely be included as well. Hopefully, all of these characters get the spotlight they deserve before My Hero Academia finishes its epic Final War arc.
