As one of the largest peacekeeping organizations in the DC Universe, the Green Lantern Corps has a lot of amazing members. DC fans are undoubtedly familiar with the exploits of some of the more popular Earth-based Green Lanterns such as Hal Jordan, John Stewart, and Jessica Cruz. And while they’re all fine heroes, the DC Universe is filled with other Lanterns that are just as impressive.

Over the years, there have been plenty of beings lucky enough to call themselves a Green Lantern, many of whom have a compelling story or history. But they don’t get the attention some of the more famous Lanterns do. Read on to see 15 of the most intriguing Green Lanterns that are rarely remembered.

15 Morro

Morro DC

It’s not uncommon for Green Lanterns to die in the line of duty. And when their time is up, it’s Morro who makes sure his fellow Lanterns are never forgotten. Morro, along with his dragon-like pet dratures, guards the crypts of Oa. Before becoming a Green Lantern, Morro lost his brother and learned the value of life. Now he spends his days honoring the sacrifice his comrades have made.

14 Von Daggle

Daggle DC

Von Daggle is a member of the Green Lantern Corps that even most Lanterns aren't aware of. Von is a member of the Corpse, the secret black ops division of the Corps that takes on missions too dangerous or sensitive for the standard officers. Rather than a Power Ring, this Lantern uses a disc that is swallowed and gives him power greater than most Corps members.

13 Hannu

Hannu DC

When it comes to warriors, Hannu is one of the Green Lantern Corps’ greatest fighters. Though he’s equipped with a Green Lantern Power Ring like everyone else, Hannu prefers to only use it for travel and surviving in space. For fighting, Hannu simply relies on his tough exterior and overwhelming strength. It’s not conventional for a Green Lantern, but it certainly sets him apart.

12 Isamot Kol

Isamot DC

Isamot Kol was one of the Green Lanterns’ first recruits when the Corps was resurrected. Kol is a Thanagarian and was partnered up with a Rannian named Vath Sarn. The two hated each other due to their home planets' bitter feud. However, the battles they faced together helped ease the prejudice they harbored. Isamot even donated his legs to Vath after he was injured in Blackest Night (since Kol could simply regrow his own).

11 Tangent Green Lantern

Tangent Green Lantern DC

The Green Lantern of Earth-9 isn’t technically a member of the Green Lantern Corps, but she’s an interesting Lantern nonetheless. The Tangent Universe’s Green Lantern is a mystical figure whose lantern can temporarily resurrect the dead by placing it on the grave of the deceased. Her background is murky and she has no defined origin. Still, her existence is a wonderful and original twist on the Green Lantern name.

10 Iolande

Iolande DC

There are beings in the DC Universe who would kill to be a Green Lantern. Unfortunately, Princess Iolande discovered that firsthand when she discovered her brother murdered potential Lantern recruits to secure a ring for himself. However, Iolande earned the ring he so desperately coveted. The ring didn’t select poorly, as Iolande was a perfect fit into the Corps and served for years as Soranik Natu’s partner.

9 Boodikka

Boodikka DC

Long before Boodikka became a Green Lantern, she was a cutthroat mercenary who spent her days fighting aliens. Boodikka’s warrior spirit and lack of fear easily earned her membership into the Corps, where she developed a reputation as one of the toughest Lanterns around. Boodikka was personally selected by the Guardians to join the Alpha Lantern Corps and was given a cybernetic makeover that took away her emotions and made her even more powerful.

8 Tomar-Tu

Tomar-Tu DC

Thanks to his unique Xudarian physiology, Tomar-Tu has one of the Green Lantern Corps’ most identifiable looks. Tomar-Tu is the son of Tomar-Re, a Corps legend. Tomar-Tu found it hard to live up to the legacy of his father but got his chance when he was personally recruited by Hal Jordan. Though he hasn’t achieved legendary status, Tomar-Tu is a worthy successor to his father.

7 Jade

Jade DC

Jade is the daughter of the Golden Age Green Lantern, Alan Scott. While Scott was never a member of the Green Lantern Corps, his daughter did earn that honor thanks to her boyfriend Kyle Rayner. Jade temporarily served as a Green Lantern when her standard powers weren’t working, becoming the first female Green Lantern of Earth. While she’s no longer a Corps member, she was a trailblazer for women who joined the Corps down the line.

6 Sodom Yat

Sodom Yat DC

Superman might not be a Green Lantern, but Sodom Yat is the next best thing. Sodom is a Daxamite, a race of alien beings that possess powers similar to Kryptonians under the right circumstances. In addition to his natural power, Sodom is a master of willpower, rivaling Hal Jordan. He was even personally selected by the Guardians to be the new host of the Green Lantern entity Ion, making him powerful enough to fight Superboy-Prime.

5 Arisa Rrab

Arisia Rrab DC

Some members of the Green Lantern Corps are following in the footsteps of their families. For Arisia Rrab, she’s weighed down by a legacy that stretches back generations. Arisia was only a teenager when she joined the Corps after her father and uncle died in the line of duty. However, she rose to the occasion and made her family proud as Arisia helped the Corps achieve victory in “Sinestro Corps War” and Blackest Night.

4 Salaak

Salaak DC

The Guardians of the Universe might be the ones who technically run the Green Lantern Corps, but it’s Salaak who makes sure it works. Salaak is the one who enforces the Corps’ laws and procedures, often earning him the ire of rule-breaking Lanterns like Guy Gardner. However, Salaak is not so committed to the books that he isn’t above rebelling when he sees the Guardians acting in an unjust manner.

3 Soranik Natu

Soranik Natu DC

Soranik Natu had the misfortune of being born to the Green Lantern Corps’ greatest traitor, Sinestro. Before becoming a Lantern, Soranik was one of the best doctors on her home planet of Korugar. While in the Corps, she saved the life of countless Lanterns in the field. Unfortunately, Soranik eventually traded her green Power Ring for a yellow one and has been leading the Sinestro Corps for some time now.

2 Kilowog

Kilowog DC

The Green Lanterns wouldn’t be the resilient fighting force they are if they didn’t have the Kilowog whipping them into shape. Kilowog is the Corps’ drill sergeant and is tasked with making Lanterns out of ‘poozers’ (as he loves to call new recruits). Though Kilowog can be hard on his trainees, he cares about them deeply and is willing to lay down his life to protect any Lantern, newbie or otherwise.

1 Simon Baz

Simon Baz Green Lantern DC Comics

Like Hal Jordan or John Stewart, Simon Baz is a Green Lantern from Earth. Simon grew up facing persecution due to his ethnicity and was nearly prosecuted under trumped-up terrorism charges. However, Simon got a hold of a Power Ring and became a Green Lantern and a Justice League member. Unfortunately, Simon’s role in the DC Universe has diminished in favor of some of the more recent or well-known Green Lanterns.

The Corps is filled with a lot of officers who are worthy of attention. And while the more popular ring-slingers are great, these 15 Green Lanterns deserve way more love than they get.
