The Plantronics Voyager B4220 is a Bluetooth headset for professional applications and is steeply-priced. While much of the Voyager series is aimed at IT departments, plenty of non-IT users will find value in the B4220. It offers exceptional speaking clarity and the ability to play music back in stereo.

Available in black, with heavily-cushioned supra-aural earcups and well-cushioned headband, the B4220 delivers serious comfort. The boom mic can be adjusted to virtually any level for maximum clarity and using its dial adjuster on the outer panel of the right earcup. It can also be flipped up and away from the mouth and out of sight.

Connecting to a Mac or PC is easy. The included USB dongle immediately connects with your headset once plugged into a USB port on your computer. Using the headset for audio is then as simple as selecting it as the preferred audio output device in your computer’s settings. Doing this while paired with your mobile device unlocks a multitude of possibilities that the B4220 handles quite well. You can play music from your computer, but when you make or receive a call from your phone, the music will pause, then resume once your call is finished. You never miss a second of your song!

From a call clarity perspective, the B4220 is solid. The mic does a solid job of keeping background noise out of the mix, and if your phone supports wideband audio, the clarity improves dramatically with HD voice-enabled, eliminating much of the fuzz that often comes with Bluetooth territory. From an audio performance perspective, the B4220 sounds excellent. It helps when trying to understand whoever’s calling, but it’s also a huge plus when listening to music.

The Voyager B4220 is an excellent Bluetooth headset with very solid headphone performance. It’s comfortable to wear during long listening sessions and offers solid battery life. HD Voice takes call clarity to the next level, and the ability to use the headset while connected to both your computer and mobile device is a huge plus. The headset is a winner when it comes to high-level voice clarity, powerful audio performance, comfort, and easy-to-use design.

The BlueParrott B550-XT steers from all the problems that the preceding headsets had. Some included uncomfortable settings, odd noises at high levels of volume, etc. Their newest headset addresses this, but for a significantly higher price. Mic clarity is top-notch, with built-in noise cancellation for loud environments, and the fit is far more comfortable. The real selling point here is the earpiece itself, which blocks out ambient sound. The B550-XT is billed as a voice-controlled headset, and while it’s a bit limited in terms of what you can do in that regard, you can still access your phone’s voice assistant, be it Siri or Alexa or Google Assistant. If you need a Bluetooth headset, you can hear over the roar of a truck; this is a solid option.

The 5.8-ounce B550-XT has a somewhat chunky build but feels light and comfortable on your head. The earpad is a leather-like material with ample cushioning too (it’s a circumaural pad, but small enough to feel like a cross between an on-ear and over-ear earpad). The headband has significant padding and presses against your head softly, using a flexible silicone pad. That said, the pressure on your skill - particularly if you wear glasses - can feel a bit tight at times. Shifting the headset around helps alleviate the tension. When you find the right angle for your head’s shape, the padding and cushioning allow for a comfortable fit.

The headset can be worn with the earpiece on the left or right side - you flip the mic over the top to make this possible. The boom extends from the earcup! The gooseneck-style boom allows for precise placement of the mic, which is covered by a padded windscreen. Beneath the screen, the mic is a bi-directional electret with a frequency range of 150Hz-6.8kHz.

The BlueParrott app is a bit of a weak spot. It’s free on the App and Google Play Stores, but it’s not the easiest app to use or navigate. Once it’s up and running, you can use the app to assign various functions to the BlueParrott button, such as activating a third-party app, triggering voice memos or speed dialing, or disabling it.

Internally, the earpiece offers excellent intelligibility. On calls using an iPhone X, those on the other end could understand you cleanly and clearly, even when pumping loud mosaic out of large speakers. The same is true when near a train or even a plane, none of this rumble can be heard even at high volumes.

If you’re looking for a feature-rich Bluetooth headset for the office, this isn’t it. The B550-XT is designed for excellent call clarity in the loudest environments, and it does that quite well. It’s a comfortable monaural option fit for driving trucks. Worth the money due to its comfort, clarity, and quality, the B550-XT is a must-have deal-breaker.

When you’re running around the house or at the gym taking phone calls, a Bluetooth headset like the Bee LC-B41 can help simplify your life. Instead of holding your phone in your hand or up to your ear, you can freely have conversations, listen to music, and control your phone’s audio functions from there. Unlike when you’re using a speakerphone, you won’t disturb others around you.

The Bee is relatively small, measuring a little over 2 inches in length and about 0.6 inches wide. It comes in three different colors: black, white, or gold. The exterior finish is glossy, and it has a silver trim that gets thicker at the rounded-off bottom portion of the headset.

The Bee is lightweight and comfortable to wear for long time periods, but it’s more comfortable without the addition of the ear hook. If you’re not partaking in heavy activity, the Bee stays in the ear pretty well. The ear cushions are also soft and comfortable, and they don’t feel forced as other headsets might. Each ear cushion has a loop that helps it stay in the ear, but it’s also flexible so it doesn’t push against the curves in your ear.

The Bee features HD voice and clear voice capture 6.0 noise cancellation. The call quality on the Bluetooth headset is good overall, but it does bring in some noise when the volume rises to the maximum level. On a positive note, the caller on the other end can hear your speech clearly through the microphone.

When listening to music on the Bee, it plays clearly on lower volumes (same with the higher volume setting, there tends to be some noise within). The music playback is by no means comparable to a high-quality pair of earbuds designed for music, but sounds can still be enjoyed without any disturbances outside of your peripherals.

One of the best features about the Bee, aside from its lengthy battery life of 24 hours talk time, is that the package includes plenty of accessories. In addition to a portable carrying case, you receive two extra hooks and three extra ergonomic ear cushions.

The Bee LC-41 isn’t perfect, but because it offers so much for so little, most people will be extremely content with the device.

Great looking, great sounding, perfect comfort, that’s the Logitech G Pro X. Ostensibly geared toward esports enthusiasts, we thought it might be acceptable to add in a gaming headset into the mix. After all, it is a Bluetooth headset as well.

The Pro X may be Logitech’s best-looking headset yet. That’s quite a feat, given how much Logitech has given regarding various headsets in the past few years. It’s very basic, flat-black with a leatherette headband, metal forks, and pill-shaped ear cups. The only adornment is a metal disc on each ear, emblazoned with the Logitech G logo.

Logitech packages two sets of pads with the Pro X. Leatherette is the default, but there are alternate microfiber pads included as well. Comfort is overall extremely high, though it takes a few days to properly break in the headset. Padding is extremely generous, though, and while the Pro X is slightly heavy, it never feels uncomfortable.

The sound quality is high-grade and likely to impress those you’re playing against. The detachable microphone is a useful feature and Logitech’s innovative Blue VO!CE technology means you can adjust and control the sound via their software, allowing you the option to alter noise reduction, compress sound, and clean up the quality to improve your experience. Object-based 7.1 surround sound also delivers an immersive and impressive sound, bringing your game to life.

Although many users report the G Hub software that comes with the headset takes some getting used to, it’s worth spending the time to learn it, as it gives users a wide range of options to customize and tweak their sound experience. Overall, the Pro X is great value for money, considering how much they can offer.

Hands-free communication has become a necessity for many people, making it simple for anyone using their phone nearly 24/7. The Sennheiser Presence promises the high standards of quality and comfort that its reputable brand is known for.

The Presence is a classy-looking device. Its black and silver exterior is eminently preferable to the broken Q-tip appearance and is very much the earpiece of the dynamic executive. It’s equally excellent from a portability standpoint. Being feather-light due to its small size, it’s also extremely durable for any situation. However, it should be noted that though the casing is designed to hold the earpiece and its accessories, fitting everything into it properly can be difficult.

Fitting the Presence can be a bit tedious at first, but with any earpiece, the product fits in no problem after a couple of tries. It becomes secure and snug once put on properly and takes no effort once you’re used to it.

The Presence provides perfectly adequate sound quality, but nothing to something innovative in the sound aisle. Conversations are pleasant on the receiving end, so that’s great. However, it may sound as if you’re speaking through speaker phone when conversing with people on the other end. Single earpieces like the Presence aren’t really meant for listening to music, but it is compatible with music apps, so as long as you don’t mind listening through only one earpiece then you’re good. The Presence performs well throughout a range of frequencies. However, there are no noise-cancelling features, though this is an advantage as it allows you to remain aware of your surroundings.

Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity is well implemented in the Presence, being able to connect quickly without any difficulty. Its 25-meter range works well when moving between different rooms from your phone or computer without losing any signal. The earpiece can last up to 10 hours to get you through a workday with juice to spare afterward.

The Sennheiser Presence is an excellent headset. It offers decent sound quality and is easy to use. The basic concept of wireless earpieces may be somewhat dated, but it still holds up as a great earpiece when looking for one of its kind.

The Willful M98 Bluetooth headset is primarily targeted towards truckers and call center workers. For many of their years, Plantronics has been their go-to brand for desk workers and drivers. But with so many options available to them nowadays, workers have endless options to choose from at all different price ranges, and the Willful M98 is one of the more affordable options.

The headset has a pretty standard design. It’s a single speaker headset with an ear cup on one side and a headband that goes around the head and rests against the opposite side. The microphone, which extends out of the ear cup, is almost 5.5 inches in length - long enough that it positions in front of your mouth when it’s extended, yet it doesn’t sit too close to the face. The microphone extends in both directions, so you can have the speaker and mic on either the left or right side, whatever is more comfortable for you.

The Willful M98 is not too heavy or bulky, so it’s comfortable to wear for hours at a time, sometimes even forgetting that it’s on in the first place. The main round ear cup is small and has vinyl-covered padding for comfort. On the opposite side, where it rests against the head, there’s a flexible curved piece for added comfort. The headband adjusts for the best fit, and it doesn’t press into the head, face, or glasses.

The M98 has exceptional audio quality and noise cancellation. While communicating through platforms like Skype, the call quality is extremely clear on most calls, having excellent quality even after 50 calls. The headset can connect to two devices, but you can only use it with one device at a time. However, when connected to listen to music, the sound quality is mediocre. There isn’t a clear distinction between the mid-tones and the treble, while the bass is weak. That being said, take into consideration that these aren’t professional headphones.

A great feature that comes with the M98 is the charging station, which is magnetic and holds the headset in place. It also serves as a stand for the headset when you’re not using it, so charging is intuitive. If you don’t forget to place the headset on the stand after a few calls, you’ll start to believe the headset is always fully charged. It charges fairly quickly at 2 hours, and the battery lasts for about 17 hours of talk time and 200 hours of standby time.

The Willful M98 is a decent-sounding headset that’s comfortable and intuitive, a surprisingly solid Bluetooth headset that’s very reasonably priced.

The Jabra Talk 25 is a fantastic headset for anyone on a budget. Despite the low price, it delivers way above its price range, offering HD sound provided by its omnidirectional microphone and 11mm speaker. It works with most Bluetooth-enabled devices, allowing you to easily listen to podcasts, get directions, or make calls while driving or on the go. The headset itself is comfortable and easy to wear, staying in place securely on your ear.

The Talk 25 uses an in-ear design and comes with three different size silicone earbuds and two different plastic hooks. The headset is light, so once it’s on, it can sometimes be forgetful to notice that you’re wearing it.

The Talk 25 has a useful ‘Power Nap’ feature, allowing the user to extend battery life - it turns itself off when not in use after a certain amount of time, allowing you to go longer between charges. It’s worth noting the device needs to be charged via the included charging cable, so try to always have it with you, so you don’t end up losing a connection. Jabra states that the Talk 25 has an 8-hour battery life, but users report it’s not always quite this long. Still, it’s a great value headset that will work well for those after something simple but effective. The Jabra Talk 25 is simply a no-frills Bluetooth headset that’s heavy on value and light on features.

The Plantronics Voyager Legend is a middle-of-the-road option that’s a solid option for average users. When Plantronics developed the headset, they did so with convenience and connectivity in mind, folding in some interesting sensor functionality, a degree of moisture-resistance, and even voice assistance integration.

The fit in a user’s ear and the sound quality inherent with that loose fit do leave a bit to be desired, so don’t look at these if you intend to place calls in excessively noisy settings. But if you want a moderately priced headset with tons of convenience and great voice clarity, this can be an excellent option for you.

The design of the Voyager is intentional as it puts a lot of components behind the ear and out of sight, but is it comfortable? The boom mic itself measures under 3 inches from the earpiece, with the mic swiveling to fold up alongside the over-ear component, leaving a smaller footprint both when storing and wearing the headset. One of the negatives for the Voyager is the stability of fit. The ear tip is a bit awkward, made up of clear silicone, and it’s a little more rigid than other types of silicone. The construction is mostly solid. The whole unit is encased in a soft, matte rubber surfacing, which makes it both pleasant on the ear and inside the ear.

The sound quality of the Voyager is serviceable, providing a great level of detail without any substantial amount of low end. This lack of low end could have largely been due to the lack of seal for the ear, but don’t bother listening to music on these earpieces because it’s simply not meant for that.

The Voyager really shines with the microphone quality. There’s a three-mic array that aims to pick up sound and cancel any noises from any angle. Plantronics includes sidetone detection that aims to pinpoint and suppress acoustic reverberations in your space, which works extremely well in louder-than-usual places. They’ve also built a mesh wind-guarding net underneath that helps to reduce wind clipping.

The battery life is at about 7 hours of talk time and 11 days of standby time, which goes through a typical workday. It also takes about 90 minutes to grab a full charge, which is simple to do using their universal micro USB cable to connect to their port.

The Voyager is a really solid Bluetooth headset that sits at a nice price point and gives you great call clarity. That said, there is plenty to be improved upon when it comes to the fit and comfort level.

In a world where headphones have built-in mics and the earbuds that come with your phone largely do the work of a separate microphone peripheral, it might be hard to convince yourself that you need a standalone headset. The Mpow Pro Trucker makes a strong argument in favor, due to its solid call quality and affordable price tag. Of course, there are plenty of core features you’d look for in a Bluetooth headset. If you want something that won’t hurt your wallet, the Pro Trucker is a great option.

The Pro Trucker is about as standard as you could expect from a looks perspective; it has the exact same look as most call centers. The earpiece itself measures in at about 1.75 inches while the boom mic measures at 5.25 inches, and the headband sits at just under six inches from the earpiece to the top of the head. Mpow goes for a pretty standard one-earpiece look here, and the minimalism looks great.

Because the cost isn’t premium, the construction of the Pro Trucker does feel inexpensive. It’s built of mostly soft-touch plastic with a thin metal headband. Many headsets that employ this construction are somewhat doomed to bending and loosening. Actually, the metal band is quite strong, and the notched mechanism that allows you to adjust the size of the headband is very firm. The earpiece is also really substantial, and while that fact contributes to the lack of comfort, it seems like it won’t break down very easily. The Pro Trucker is extremely light, which works well when working with it on your head. There’s a stabilizing, crescent-shaped pad that actually provides a bit more comfort than expected.

One of the best qualities of the Pro Trucker happens to be the key features of a Bluetooth headset: beautiful call quality. When the headset is fired up for business calls, it’s impressive for the budget price point. The mic itself is omnidirectional with some built-in noise-canceling features. It does the job really well, especially for an omnidirectional mic.

Mpow states that you can get 12 hours of talk time and 200 hours of standby time, which is excellent when you’re on call for most of your days. However, you can’t make calls when the headset is on charge, which can take up to 2.5 to 3 hours to fully get it to 100%.

The Mpow Pro Trucker really is an impressive unit: solid connection, amazing voice call clarity, a super-light build, and perfectly reliable battery life for a fraction of the average Bluetooth headset.

Jabra Talk 45 is an excellent choice for general use, especially if you’re an avid Siri or Google Assistant user. This comfortable headset has a separate button to connect to your smartphone, making it simple to ask for directions, check the weather, or listen to tunes while you’re driving or otherwise occupied.

The Talk 45 comes with NFC pairing, which is a nice little bonus. During driving, the earpiece maintains a steady connection, rarely cutting out. Between the small profile and good noise cancellation, it’s a pretty good headset. That said, it’s not a perfect product. This headset requires both an ear hook and an ear tip. Without the hook, the headset just doesn’t feel secure. With the hook, the earpiece gets uncomfortable after only 60 minutes of wear. Unfortunately, the discomfort lingers long after you take it off.

The Talk 45 stands out of its impressive features, including two microphones equipped with HD Voice, which automatically adjusts the volume, taking into account the background noise in your surroundings. This does not mean there’s not an additional volume control, but the HD Voice should do a good job of automatically adjusting this for you. It also has built-in noise cancellation and wireless streaming - very useful for listening to music or podcasts straight from your phone. You can also make additional adjustments through Jabra’s app.

Jabra promises six hours of call time per battery charge, which might be a bit short for frequent users, but overall it’s a solid choice with a lot of helpful features.
